This smacks of something like common sense which would be a very welcome entrant to our political arena. As this contributor has often mentioned, it beggars belief that there are so many 'inspectors' to tell businesses what they can and cant do. I have yet to meet a self employed person who was ever asked by an 'inspector' if they had taken their breaks that day, if they had taken home a salary which matched the hours they had put in, had a holiday in the last few years, had a good nights sleep recently or been able to pay all the bills when their staff, suppliers, government bodies etc etc had been paid. The fact that the business owner is the one taking all the risks and providing all the jobs is only a minor detail apparently. Lunatics and asylum come to mind. It does look like the current government though are committed to getting to grips with the madness that is our regulatory system. It cannot come a minute too soon.
